We pick you up at your hotel in Arequipa we leave for the Cerro Colorado District to enter the Añashuayco Quarries, where the combination of natural landscape and living culture.

We walk through the cutters’ area to appreciate handmade works such as: enormous cliffs up to 30 meters high, facades and colonial carvings. We will find the artisan workshops interpreting ashlar carving led by stonecutters you can hear the voice of the master stonemason, stories of effort and tenacity; You will see falls of larger blocks and the wonderful experience of seeing in person the carving of small blocks of ashlar made with ancestral instruments used from generation to generation. In this area you can buy crafts and souvenirs made from the ashlar.

Our next stop will be the Culebrillas quarry, a natural ravine formed by the erosion of water and wind whose name is due to its geography that, in the form of narrow rows, show us the beauty of a “virgin quarry” that when walking through appreciating this very interesting space formed by the crossroads of roads whose cliffs contain recordings of petroglyphs of different shapes, which may have Wari influence before the incas time.
